Nancy Hosford

President

Nancy Hosford founded ALL IN YOUTH Pickleball in April 2022. Nancy has lived in Tucson since 1986. She began as a tennis professional at The Ventana Canyon Golf and Racquet Club before enjoying a 20 year career in media, selling television and radio advertising. She retired from media in 2016 as a partner in Davidson-Hosford Advertising. She returned to racquet sports, teaching pickleball at the Tucson Country Club for 8 years. Nancy still gives local lessons but focuses most of her energy in service work growing ALL IN Youth Pickleball.

 

Leonard Finkel

Treasurer

Leonard Finkel is a freelance writer and the author of The Secrets to the Game of Golf & Life and former editor in chief of Golf Journeys Magazine. His work has been featured in more than 200 publications including Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Golf Illustrated, Golf Tips and Player Magazine. He has written more than a dozen cover stories for Golf Today Magazine. He has written extensively about golf and travel and added poker to his writing repertoire. Finkel also works as a marketing and public relations consultant and owns Advertorial Concepts Inc. His specialty niche was writing advertorial content. Prior to his career in golf, Finkel owned a chain of retail stores which included locations in Aspen, Vail, Beavercreek and Park City, Utah. He also owned a consulting and import company based in Asia. Leonard attended the University of Utah.

For six years he worked as a consultant then advertising and communications manager for Club Champion. Over that period, the company went from eight to 86 locations. He retired in 2021.

In addition to Treasurer of ALL IN Youth Pickleball, his charitable work included the Steering Committee for the San Marcos CA Boys and Girls Club golf tournament, tutoring Elementary school students through the Vista, CA library program, board member of Tucson Area Pickleball and volunteer golf cart driver at the Tucson Medical Center.

Margy Eller

Vice President

Margy Eller is a former nurse educator who worked with underserved teens in south Tucson. Margy was named one of Tucson’s Fab 50 nurses for her work with underserved students and families in 2002. She has played tennis since her early teens and switched to pickleball several years ago. Margy traveled to Bhutan last year to teach pickleball to students, monks and nuns and has a passion for working with underserved populations.

Vanessa Sargent

Secretary

Vanessa is a Tucson native and graduate of the university of Arizona. She and her husband Jay have one daughter. She’s a former educator who taught Home Economics and Health at Pueblo HS. In 1997 when her daughter was born, she retired to become a full time “domestic Engineer”. Vanessa has been addicted to Pickleball since she discovered it in 2001. Most days you can find her playing at Udall Park. She loves being active and making new friends. Her other hobbies include cooking, sewing, playing poker, mahjong and bingo. Coaching with ALL IN has rekindled her passion for teaching and has offered her the opportunity to give back to her community.

Lynell Ciranna

Director

A registered dental hygienist and registered dietitian, Lynell has worked and traveled around the world. She has enjoyed teaching dental hygiene students at Cypress Community College (California). Working as a consultant, she has mentored hygienists throughout the country.

Volunteering in the community has been a priority and Lynell was actively involved in many activities teaching children about their dental and nutritional health. Semi-retired after moving to Arizona, playing pickleball became a passion. Being involved in ALL IN Youth Pickleball is a wonderful opportunity and a great way to share the game’s inclusive community culture and her love of the game with students in Tucson.
